Marriage License
Application & Information
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. The packet attached is what you would have received if you completed the license application in the town clerk’s office. Some other information below:
- Appointments are always welcome for marriage licenses. If you know what day/time you will be in town, a heads up is appreciated. We’ll put you on our calendar!
- Marriage Licenses are good for 60 days. So, for example, if your wedding date is July 11, you can come in anytime after May 11.
- You can both can complete most of the application ahead of time. We just need to see one of you sign the license with an acceptable ID/signature, so one of you needs to be present when dropping off the marriage license application.
- We do require documentation (minimally date/s) for divorce information if any.
- If you have your own officiant, he/she/they will need to be registered with the state of Vermont’s Secretary of State’s office and we will need a copy of their certificate.
Thanks for reaching out ahead of time!
