Transfer Station Closure on April 4, 2024

Dear Transfer Station Patrons,

           In an attempt to get the word out early, I am notifying those who use the Castleton Transfer Station that depending on the amount of snow received from the impending storm, that the Transfer Station will be closed. I encourage patrons to try and get there tomorrow if at all possible because I won't make the call to close the facility until Wednesday.

          I ask that you call the Transfer Station on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning to find out if the facility will be open on Thursday, but plan now as if it won't be open.  The phone number is (802) 468-3005 or email them at transferstation@castletonvt.org. Be patient if they don't answer the phone or reply to your email immediately as they are probably hauling trash/recyclables, working outside, or helping customers. You can always contact the Town Office at (802) 468-5319 and select extension 202 or 203 to find out if the facility is open or closed. 

          It is expected that the Transfer Station will be open during normal hours on Saturday.
