About Us
Welcome to the Castleton Recreation website. We offer a number of activities in the area.
Our Mission
The Castleton Recreation Commission is committed to improving the quality of life for all residents by continually developing a wide range of programs and leisure activities for all ages, income levels, and interests. We are dedicated to providing accessible, and aesthetically pleasing parks, fields and beaches for community members in order to help them develop physically, mentally and emotionally throughout a lifetime.
The Commission is a self-governing board with a maximum of 9 members. Meetings are the first Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm. Summer meetings are held at Crystal Beach under the pavilion. Programming includes:
- Youth sports & related activities
- Maintenance of Dewey Field and Hydeville Field
- Crystal Beach
- Adult activities
- Special events
- Upkeep of town recreational lands
