Seeking Youth Soccer Coaches

Dear parents and community members,

As September inches closer, we are getting ready to announce the Youth Soccer program for Castleton residents and nonresidents. We'd like to organize a K-2nd coed instructional team, a 3rd/4th grade boys league team, and a 3rd/4th grade girls league team. Before we can announce the program, though, we need to secure reliable coaches to guide the kids through the season. We will need 2 coaches for each team, as well as referees for a handful of home games.

Practices are located at Dewey Field in Castleton, 2x/week after school. Once games get going, a game usually replaces a practice each week. 

If you are available to volunteer as a coach for our youth rec teams, or if you're interested in reffing, please email: recreationdirector@castletonvt.org 

As thanks for being such a good (community) team player, we can offer...

  • Volunteer coaches: 1 waived registration fee for your youth player 
  • Referees: $50 per game (high schoolers welcome, retirees welcome, or anyone with an idea of the game rules!) 

I'm thrilled to share that the 3rd/4th grade boys already have a coach and assistant coach, and the K-2nd instructional team has secured one coach! We still need 2 coaches for the 3rd/4th grade girls team and 1 co-coach for the K-2nd instructional team. Once coaches are secured, we'll be able to announce the program and publish registration pages. Game schedules will follow in September. Until then, we appreciate your help recruiting!
