Pickleball is back for the summer!

Pickleball Summer Schedule

As many of you know, Castleton Rec is still experimenting with scheduling strategies to offer Pickleball to the community with regularity, predictability, ease, and affordability. So, here's the new experiment! We are committing to ongoing, weekly Pickup Pickleball Hours, starting Monday, June 12, 2023 through the end of August. At that point, we'll review how it all went, gather feedback from participants, then release a new schedule for the fall accordingly.

So what are the summer hours like?

Regular Pickup Pickleball Hours: every Monday and Wednesday, both in the morning (10-11:30am) and in the evening (5:30-7pm).

Want to see who else is playing on a particular day? We just added Castleton Rec to the website Playtime Scheduler, which allows people to see what's available nearby for pickleball and how many people are playing. Our listing is being reviewed for approval now, so you'll likely see Castleton Rec as an option to select from on Playtime Scheduler within a few days - keep checking back!

Popup Pickleball Hours (outside of regular hours): on a periodic schedule that volunteers are willing to commit to, there may be additional days/times that the gym is open for pickleball - for example, on weekends for a certain number of weeks or for one month, etc. These additional pickleball hours will pop up and be announced as coordinated between the Rec Director and the volunteer.

Registration is required to play! Purchase a Month Pass or a Day Pass at the Rec Center (47 Mechanic St., Castleton, VT). Please note: the prices of June passes have been reduced to $5 and $2, respectively, due to the shortened month.

With the purchase of a month pass ($10), you may drop in to play during any of the Pickleball Hours that month!

With the purchase of a day pass ($5), you can drop in as many times as you like during one particular Monday or Wednesday (ideal for those who are just passing through town).
