Crystal Beach Matrix – M. Clifford reviewed the wage matrix and issues with its progression. The main issue is that with the rising VT minimum wage over the past 3 years, employees with less experience are earning as much or more as employees that have aged out of the matrix. Tabled until February.

Budget Discussion – M. Clifford informed the Commission that the Selectboard chose to pull out the Full Time Director position from the overall Rec budget and have it as a stand-alone article. They put back into the budget the salaries for the co-directors’ position in case the full-time director position was voted down. Decision was made to have two informational meetings during January. One will be at the Castleton Senior Center during the day and the other will be at the fire department meeting room in the evening. Commission members will gather and organize important data that will be put into handouts and put on the Castleton Rec page and in busy locations in town. Specific dates will be set when the handouts/pamphlet is available.

Organization of Spring Baseball – A. Clapp sent an email suggesting that a discussion take place and decisions made to organize Spring Baseball and decide what it will look like. She also stated that she may, with some help, be able to run one additional program (outdoor fish & wildlife program? theater? dance?).  Tabled until February
