Drake Road Paving

Dear residents,

         I will start this message with an apology. I misunderstood a paving start date with Wilk Paving for the southern section of Drake Road and didn’t get a message out last night. Wilk Paving is scheduled to pave the southern section of Drake Road tomorrow (Wednesday) from Route 4A to the top of the top of the hill north of the bridges over U.S. Route 4. They plan to mobilize at 7:30AM and start with some milling around the bridges. The Town highway crew is going to do some roadside mowing north of the bridge at approximately 6:30AM.

        The paving is expected to take up to 10 hours to complete. The project area will be limited to one lane of traffic and Wilk Paving will have flaggers in place for traffic control. Expect minor delays through the project area during paving operations. I encourage and recommend that commuters needing to travel through this section of Drake Road leave 5-10 minutes early tomorrow to avoid being late to your destination.

         Thank you for your patience and understanding as the paving season begins. Wilk Paving still needs to fit the remainder of our paving projects into their summer paving schedule. I will make posts to update the community once I am able to finalize a schedule on when and where paving operations will occur.
