Assistant Transfer Station Operator/Roustabout

IMMEDIATE OPENING - This position works under the immediate supervision of the Transfer Station Operator. The employee is required to work in all types of weather, operate the Town manual transmission refuse truck to haul materials to facilities in Vermont and New York, perform multiple administrative functions, operate heavy equipment, and keep the Transfer Station clean, neat, and orderly. The Roustabout works independently at times and assists employees in skilled positions both at the Transfer Station and Highway Department. This is a full time, union position with benefits. If hired, an employee(s) with a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) will receive a $500 signing bonus after the successful completion of a 90-day probationary period. Highway Crew/Equipment Operator

IMMEDIATE OPENING - This position work under the supervisor of the DPW Foreman. The employee is required operate heavy equipment, plow roads, perform operator maintenance, maintain Town property, haul materials, cut and split wood, mow roadsides, install signs and signposts, and other duties as assigned. The Town requires a favorable criminal background check. This position requires a minimum of a Class B valid Commercial Driver's License. The Town will pay to train the right person. If hired, an employee(s) with a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) will receive a $500 signing bonus after the successful completion of a 90-day probationary period. This is a full-time, union position with benefits. Treasurer

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in Castleton, Vermont. The Treasurer plays a vital role in managing the financial affairs of our municipality, ensuring the efficient collection, disbursement, and management of funds, and adhering to state and local financial regulations. This is an elected position and is part time, between 5-10 hours per week with no benefits. A petition is to be submitted to the Town Clerk so interested parties can be placed on the March ballot.
