Select Board Meeting Agenda - February 9, 2026

There is a Select Board meeting on February 9th at 7:00PM at the Castleton Parks & Recreation Activity Center, located at 47 Mechanic Street. One of the agenda items is to discuss an article that will be on the ballot on March 3, 2026. The subject is a local option tax(es). There are myths and facts about what a local option is, how it works, and how it can benefit the voters and residents of a municipality.

Typically, there is little participation at board, committee, and commission meetings in the community, so please, join in person or join virtually, but join and participate in the conversation, ask questions, and learn more about how a local option tax works. If anything, it may debunk myths, support your opinion (in either direction), but at least share an opportunity to participate in a civil and open discussion about it. Hope to see you there.
