Weekly Wildflower Walks
Join Laura Beltran, Certified Interpretive Guide with Nature Investigations, for a weekly walk in search of blooming wildflowers. As we wander the trails, we'll also discover birdsong, insects, and other seasonal surprises along the way. Participants will develop the ability to recognize and identify 3–5 common wildflowers found along local trails and forest edges through guided observation and discussion. They will learn key features used in wildflower identification, including flower structure, leaf arrangement, habitat preferences, and seasonal bloom patterns. Through close observation and interpretive exploration, participants will discover that wildflowers are part of a larger seasonal community that includes birds, insects, fungi, and other living organisms. By the end of the walk, participants will have increased confidence in noticing details in nature, making connections between species and habitats, and exploring the outdoors with greater curiosity, awareness, and appreciation.
