June agenda was motioned and seconded (M.D., SZ) April minutes were approved and seconded (E.P., SZ).
1- & 5-year plan Update
Final draft was reviewed and minor editing made. Plan was motioned and seconded (M.D., S.Z.) to accept Plan and send it to the S.B. for review. Motion passed unanimously. M. Clifford will make copies for the S.B. and have the plan placed on the S.B. agenda for the next available meeting.

Director’s Report
Rec Director presented a summary for the new recreation digital platform citing the positive aspects of the platform. Multiple trains are scheduled throughout the summer for staff and Commissioners.
The Rec Director introduced the “subcommittee” option to aid in a more productive way of moving forward with the 1 ad 5-year plan. One option would be a “Scholarship” subcommittee to help families that need financial assistance for their children. S. Zamecnik volunteered to be on the Rec Desk subcommittee.
Discussion on involving the public in designing a logo for Castleton Recreation. Also, moving forward to creating a Recreation brochure to help in engaging the public.
Open Gym will be offered again this coming fall.
Friends of Castleton Rec Report – M. Droege
Annual “Cash Bash” will be held June 6, 2026 with proceeds going to the new gym floor at the Rec Center. There was no asbestos found in the existing floor.
June 21, 2026 2nd annual Bike Rodeo to be held at the Rec Center. Many community partners are participating. There will be bike inspections and free safety equipment for the participants.
Crystal Beach Update – M Clifford
Beach opened May 23, 2606. Maintenance is still looking for one (1) employee, gate staff all returned from last year. Sailing Camp is full, but we can not find a swim instructor for swim lessons.

Summer Camp – July 6 – August 14
