Signatures Needed by 10-7-2022

Castleton and Hubbardton Voters

(3rd post, see #2710 & 2755)

•             Rec. is simply asking for time to develop programs and see if we can make the facility work for us.

•             Kids need recreational opportunities and so do adults! We need summer and after school programs to keep kids out of trouble

•             Castleton Rec has operated for decades without dedicated physical space. The Town just voted for a full-time Rec Dir. to allow for expanded programs. Many in town want this.

•             We worked all spring to make the case and then our efforts were ignored.

•             If this petition is successful, it will trigger a town wide vote either at a special meeting or at the ballot box, town citizens will decide not just 5 SB members. Much more democratic process.

There are petitions in local businesses. There needs to be approximately 200 signatures from Castleton and 50 signatures from Hubbardton. If these numbers are met, it will trigger a select board meeting of both towns to get voter's input into this very important issue.

Time is running out! You can find the petitions in the following local businesses; the Bomoseen Diner, the corners laundry matt, Doggie Day Care, Kinney Drug Store, Castleton Corners Pizza & Deli, Beverage King, Prunier's Market, Castleton Pet Store, Robo's Creamie Stand,  the Castleton Community Center, the Library, the Village Store, and 3rd Place.
