Summer Camp

Summer Camp was able to use the CVS building beginning the 2nd week of camp. It was

a great place for the camp because of its location and space. Campers participated in

organized activities and arts and crafts. Monday, Wednesday and Friday the campers

went to Crystal Beach from 12:30 – 5:00. Parents picked up their children from the

beach on those days. Tuesday and Thursday the campers went to the CU pool for

swimming. Attendance in Week 1 & 6 was lower, but the remaining weeks had very

                good attendance.

Sailing Camp

This was a huge success this year. Both weeks were filled quickly and there were kids

on a waiting list. Joe Mark and his group of volunteers did a great job keeping the kids

                safe, engaged and motivated.

CVS Building

There was no further update from the select board about the future of the CVS building.

The select boards from Castleton and Hubbardton voted 7-1 to sell the building to a

“private” entity. M. Droege had the following questions; Will the rent (for Rec) be

controlled? and is the Town going to fix the roof (approximately $175-$200) if the building is being sold?

Rec Director

All viable candidates have withdrawn form the search citing the salary and job

expectations being the factors in their decision. M. Clifford will speak with the town

manager as to the status of the search.
