CVS Building Discussion
The Commission has been given permission to run programming out of the CVS building for the winter. On December 3rd, there was a community volunteer event to clean the CVS building to get ready for programming. There were 16 adults and a dozen children at this clean-up. The cleanup lasted for two hours and the entry hallway, the gym, bathrooms, plus many of the classrooms were successfully cleaned.
The new Recreation Director, Bo Elliott Ramos, has spent the week pulling out things that were left by the school district and taking an inventory of items that would be useful for Rec programming.
There was a preliminary discussion about what Rec’s next steps would be. The idea of blocking time for indoor walking for adults was supported by all members. The Rec Director will clear it with the Town Manager.
B. Ramos will have a table set up for the Holiday Market on December 10th to meet Castleton residents and get feedback from them concerning recreation activities. B. Ramos will also be visible during the parade.
