Castleton and Fair Haven VT-4 Project

Traffic Impacts: Drivers should expect daily daytime single-lane closures with flaggers and short delays. Shoulder closures will also be in effect as needed. Night work is scheduled in Fair Haven Monday through Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Motorists should slow down, use caution, and pay attention to road signs while traveling through the work zone.
Construction Activities: In Castleton, crews will pave a leveling course on Monday and Tuesday during daytime hours. Beginning Wednesday, crews will adjust drainage inlets and manholes in preparation for paving.
In Fair Haven, crews will mill the roadway during nighttime hours on Monday, followed by surface preparation on Tuesday night and paving a leveling course on Wednesday night. All activities are weather dependent and subject to change.
There will be no work on Thursday or Friday due to the 4th of July holiday weekend.
Location: Improvements will be underway along Vermont Route 4A in Castleton and Fair Haven, including in downtown Fair Haven.
Projected Completion: Fall 2026.
Project Location: Beginning in the Town of Castleton on VT Route 4A (Main Street) near the intersection with Sand Hill Road and extending easterly for a distance of 1.091 miles and ending just before bridge No. 7.
Project Description: Work to be performed under this project includes coarse-milling, resurfacing with a leveling and wearing coarse, pavement markings, signage, and other related highway items. This project is part of a larger contract with the Fair Haven STP PC25(2) Class I resurfacing project. It is anticipated that all work will occur during day time hours.
