WARNING – ADOPTION OF CASTLETON TRAFFIC ORDINANCE

The Castleton Select Board has adopted a new Traffic Ordinance on May 28, 2026, to regulate traffic on Town highways and promote public safety, consistent with Vermont law.

The Ordinance establishes local speed limits, designates stop and yield intersections, regulates parking, including winter parking restrictions, and adopts applicable Vermont traffic laws by reference. The Ordinance also provides for enforcement procedures, penalties, and traffic control regulations throughout the Town.

The Ordinance repeals any prior inconsistent traffic ordinances and will take effect following proper notice as required by 24 V.S.A. § 1973. Copies of the full Ordinance, including schedules of speed limits and stop/yield intersections, are available for public inspection at the Town Clerk's Office during regular business hours or online at www.castletonvermont.org

Adopted by the Castleton Select Board on May 28, 2026
