WINTER PARKING BAN

REMINDER – Winter parking restriction in effect

Whenever a motor vehicle is parked on the highways of the Town of Castleton as to interfere with policing, construction or maintenance of highways, including but not limited to the removal of snow, the Police Department of the Town or the Town Constable may cause the motor vehicle to be towed away at the owners expense in the amount not to exceed $50.00 providing signs indicating that vehicles may be towed away at the owners expense shall be posted conspicuously at the beginning of the affected area as well as two (2) other locations within the affected area.

Parking prohibited from November 1st of each year to April 1st of the following year between the hours of 11:00 pm - 7:00 am daily as posted.

Also, 23 VSA, Ch. 13 §1126a, “Depositing snow onto or across certain highways is prohibited”  “No person, other than an employee…shall deposit snow onto the traveled way, shoulder or sidewalk of a state highway or a class 1, 2 or 3 town highway.”
